TV Documentary Help

Blakeway TV are looking to speak to people going through the divorce process for a new documentary. Are you at the beginning of separating? Do you think your marriage can be saved? Or have you just got your divorce papers through? Have you experienced parental alienation? Have you had trouble with the court system? Do you think divorce laws need to change? Blakeway would love to have a chat with you. At this stage there is no pressure to be on TV, it’s just a chat on the phone as part of their research. Please email natasha.henry@blakeway.tv with a brief description of your experiences and your phone number if you are interested in helping.

  • Yes, it's Parental Alienation Awareness day again! Sadly, many of us are intimately conscious of this evil in our society. Everyone knows that losing a relationship with ones children is devastating, but to lose it and to believe that they also hate you, even in the face of your continuing efforts to provide support for them, is hard to imagine if you haven't been there yourself. Over the last year or so, many more people - Cafcass, judges, and many ordinary parents, have realised that PA exists and is widespread. Things are beginning to happen at last as PA takes its long-deserved place among the other despicable and insidious forms of - child and adult - abuse. Recent cases show that the Family Justice system is (slowly) taking steps to counter the risks and consequences of PA for so many. What needs to happen now is the full realisation that PA does not start when a previously loving child suddenly refuses to see one parent. It starts way earlier. It starts as soon as the child is exposed to a continual onslaught of disapproval, criticism, reproach and sometimes pure hatred expressed by the other parent. The damage this causes to the children and parents is immense and costly too - and can be avoided by responsible collaborative parenting. It's time to act. Giving children two happy homes is the greatest gift and is possible - and necessary - after separation. Please - Spread the word! Meanwhile, visit our site where we have added a series of compelling images for PA Awareness day. www.fnf.org.uk
  • International Parental Alienation Awareness Day is tomorrow. It is an opportunity to make this terrible phenomena visible so it can be properly addressed. A demonstration is taking place tomorrow as part of this. Please support us and the cause of stopping this abuse by sharing our posts, following us or registering with us.
  • A case of parental alienation that started in 2012 finally led to the child living with his dad last year when professionals and the court accepted that the manipulation and hate would not end otherwise. The court report is published after the mother lost her attempt last week to appeal the judgement of the court in yet another attempt to exclude the father from their son's life. The mother had a QC to represent her while the father was a litigant in person. A ray of hope as International Parental Alienation Awareness Day approaches on 25th April. • Domestic violence (DV) research to be published in Canada - concludes that the "gender lens" is counter-productive to families and DV is "largely gender symmetric", Authorities such as the police demonstrate "gender asymmetry" e.g. police arresting fathers who allege abuse whilst ignoring their complaints/suffering. This article concludes that collaboration is needed to eliminate all forms of violence and transform family support. Allegations of abuse are often part of the weaponry of alienating parents. 25th April is International Parental Alienation Awareness Day. • “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly" - part of the short announcement that Adele and Simon Konecki have separated. Family separations are challenging and it is therefore vital that the importance to the child retaining a loving relationship with both parents comes first. We wish Adele, Simon and their son, Angelo, well in the coming months and years. FNF work to support parents retaining meaningful parenting relationships after family separation because both parents matter. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/8902351/adele-and-husband-simon-konecki-split/
  • Case law is reflecting the diversity of family life today in giving a co-parent of surrogacy Parental Responsibility to help create a secure future for 'N' as reported in today's Times. No such luck on Child Maintenance which still fails to recognise the responsibilities of non-biological parents - one of it's many failings. (Most of the article is behind a paywall, but a link to the full judgement is in the comments below.) Help us to support separating parents and to get reform of Family Justice, welfare and Child Maintenance to truly support children maintain their parents in their lives.
