Chance for FNF to give its view on TV, Videos, DVDs and computer games. FNF made 3 points:

1.  That new technology can offer useful additional means of communications between children and parents, e.g. texts, facebook, websites etc.

2.  That the images of fathers and fatherhood are very few and far between and that men are often seen, in computer games for example, in quite violent roles.

3. That sharing time on the internet or computer games is a part of all parent's lives whether resident or non-resident with the anxieties that come with it e.g. 'are the watching too much TV, playing on the PC too long etc.'

Discussion on:
- How are they going to get more full-time Family judges?
- Other steps to improve judicial continuity ?
- Rolling out best practice by getting proactive timetabling with CAFCASS in more courts.
- Moving to more defined orders for CAFCASS reports, as a way of reducing delays.
- Any proposals from them to reduce delays?
- Questioning their continued use of the term 'contact' for parenting other than by the 'Resident parent', and how the term has become patently outmoded when it is being used as an administrative term in 'Every Child Matters'.
- Questioning how the Department can work for improved continuity within the system, in the children's interests, when it has separate teams for parenting time, domestic violence and transparency.
- On the assumption that we won't have yet got transparency in the Family Courts, a more public reporting of legal aid funding for resisting parenting time for children.
- Their own view on getting Commencement of the delayed Children and Adoption Act.
- Their view on the status of the Craig report 'recommendations' by the family Justice Council (we will have a challenge on record).
- Discriminatory impact of non-discretionary court fees.
- Discriminatory application of discretionary S91.14 orders - what figures do they have ?
- Quality control - how they are addressing it? - and some suggestions from us, including :-
+ Improving transparency to users - particularly children - by communicating the purpose of orders, usually, we suggest by private video
+ Judicial training
+ Rolling out a more consistent treatment of McKenzie Friends
+ Our own developing proposals for McKenzie accreditation
+ Rolling out a more consistent informality in family proceedings
